In most cases, we are able to match you with an interpreter that has the language skills and industry expertise to perfectly meet your needs.
However, due to the number of industries that exist in the world today, it is not always possible to have interpreters on-hand that specialize in your industry. For example, we were once asked for an expert in nuclear waste!
Having said that, we believe preparation is key. If you are from a specialist industry, we will do the necessary homework and review your PowerPoint slides in advance, so that we are familiar with your talking points.
CONSECUTIVE OR SIMULTANEOUS?
Consecutive interpreting, as its name suggests, is when the interpreter and the speaker work together consecutively. During a consecutive interpretation, the speaker will pause to give the interpreter time to deliver the translation. It is the most basic form of interpretation, and it is suitable for many scenarios, including business meetings, hospital appointments, and factory visits.
Simultaneous interpretation on the other hand, takes place in real time. Due to the high costs involved, it is typically only used in large conferences, and high-level diplomatic meetings. By using specialist equipment, multiple interpreters are able to deliver translations in multiple languages, all at the same time.
